In 1952, two intrepid businessmen Taherali Africawala & Akberali Africawala ventured to set up the first steel rolling mill in Bangladesh's Nasirabad, Chittagong. The mill was imported from U.K. and commissioned at the sea port of Chittagong. The result was the birth of Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Ltd, also known as BSRM, a pioneering company in the steel making market of Bangladesh which now has the capacity of 700, 000 tons!
BSRM was the first steel company in Bangladesh to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification due to its consistency in delivering high-quality service. The steel market in Bangladesh is developing and demand for product is high which brought better opportunities to BSRM.
